Congrats to the Eadestown under 14 girls gaa team who defeated Sallins in the Community Games semi final held in Sallins on evening of Sunday 27th May

The girls got off to a blistering start with the forwards Bernadette, Kate, Mary and Meabh on fire ending the first quarter leading 2-5 to 1-1.

By half time the score was 3-8 to 1-3 thanks to some great possession won midfield from interceptions by Sarah and tight marking from Laura. Throughout the game the usual brilliant work from the backs Megan, Eimear, Margaret, Grace and Anna who made sure that the Sallins scores were hard to come by. When they did get close to goal Ellie was once again outstanding blocking their shots and finding the eadestown girls with her kickouts.

During the 3rd quarter Emily and Katie took their chances but Sallins showed that they werent going to give up and despite another goal from eadestown - they came back to end the quarter 4-8 to 2-6.

The final quarter was a tense affair and Ellie had a very busy last 10 minutes saving high and low but Sallins managed another goal and point. Finally Anthony Herbert blew the last whistle; time had run out for the Sallins comeback and eadestown were victorious by a couple of points.

A very exciting, skilful and sporting game!
