Eadestown ladies turned out in style to celebrate their first Senior Championship win in 2018. The function was held in Lawlors Hotel and the large attendance was treated to a great night.

Liam Mc Loughlin Eadestown Club Chairperson welcomed all the guests and in particular Ladies Gaelic Football Association President Marie Hickey and Kildare County Board Chairperson Arthur Corrigan. The players received great credit for their success from the above speakers and said the ladies were role models for younger players. The commitment required to play at this level means many sacrifices but this championship win was worth all the effort. Marie Hickey spoke about the growing numbers playing Ladies football and the attendance in Croke Park at the last few All Ireland finals was very encouraging.

The girls from Eadestown had won a Junior Club All Ireland in 2006 and many of the players from that era were still playing a major role on the pitch in 2018. Aoife Herbert the team captain gave a brief introduction to each player as they received their medals from Marie Hickey. With the formalities of the evening complete dancing started and continued into the early hours of the morning.

The following players received their medals:

Andrea Jebb, Rose Mernagh, Denise Tierney, Nicole Kelly, Aine Ni Rathaillaigh, Siobhan Tierney, Mary Ann Ryan, Leah Mc Evoy, Siobhan O ‘Sullivan, Brenda Barr, Hazel Mc Loughlin, Aoife Herbert (c), Grace Clifford, Aimee O’ Neill, Niamh Byrne, Jenny Duffy, Patrice Kearney, Emily Carr, Jessica Harney, Cliona Dowling , Maire Lawler, Grainne Kenneally, Siofra Mernagh, Allanah Kelly, Tara Behan (represented by O Behan), Shauna O’ Toole, Hannah Byrne.
