As you are all aware Eadestown GFC has been on lockdown since March when the government required all sporting facilities to close as a result of the Covid 19 pandemic.
We were delighted in the past couple of weeks to reopen our walkway for our members and that Kildare County Council re opened the playground. The past couple of weeks have seen an acceleration of the opening up of our facilities commencing this week. A further resumption of games for all our teams will commence in the coming weeks.
We are currently putting in place the required steps for the return to training/playing that are required by the Covid 19 guidelines.
As a club we are fully aware of the effects of the pandemic has had on our community in both our homes and on businesses. Many of these businesses have had to close completely with no income available to them. Eadestown GFC has also felt the brunt of the pandemic with no income since March. In the meantime our overheads in terms of insurance, affiliation fees and public liability remain the same and have to be paid. I have attached a copy of our last two sets of accounts to give you all the background to our financial situation.
At the commencement of lockdown the Executive Committee decided to suspend both the collection of membership and the Joker draw. The bulk of the membership fees therefore remain unpaid and the executive committee have set July 13th 2020 as the final date for payment. After this date no player will be allowed play who is not a fully paid member.
We also hope to resume our weekly Joker draw in late July and we ask you our community/members/players/supporters to help us re start the club.
In the meantime we wish all our members and our community well as we work through this pandemic.
Yours in sport
