1.04.2018 Match Report: Feile C- Eadestown vs Newtown Gaels

Full Time Score: Eadestown 5-12 Newtown Gaels 1-10 

The Eadestown Feile team began their campaign with a good performance versus Newtown Gaels in Eadestown this morning. 

Starting with a  strong wind on their backs, Eadestown opened the scoring with a goal from Cian Boran.  The first half ended 3-7 to 1-2. 

In the second half, Newtown Gaels started very strong, dominating the first ten minutes with three consecutive points.  However, the Eadestown back line, led by Darragh Jameson responded well and soon the team had settled back down with multiple attacks led from mid field by Mal Harney.  Niall Grainger had a particularly strong performance against a very physical Newtown Gaels full-back who received a yellow card for his enthusiasm.

Top scorer of the game was Dara McGettrick, 2-8. 

A welcome to new goalkeeper Ben Loughlin who got off to a great start in his first match for Eadestown.
