Match Report: U14 Boys Div 3 Final Eadestown v Kilcullen

Time: 7pm

Venue: Hawkfield GAA Centre of Excellence

Eadestown started very well against Kilcullen on Saturday ending the first half with a lead of 4-5 to 1-5.  However, the Kilcullen team responded very well in the second half scoring 6 points in the first 6 minutes and went on to dominate the second half.  Despite a valiant effort by the boys, the physical strength of the former Division 1 Kilcullen side proved to be the deciding factor in a narrow defeat. 

The final score was Eadestown 5-9 to Kilcullen 2-22, a 4 point margin.  Well done to Kilcullen for a great comeback.  

Scorers from Eadestown were:  Charlie Carroll 0-1, Cian Boran 1-2, Cian Dowling 1-2, Dara McGettrick 1-2, Mal Harney 0-1, Niall Grainger 2-1 (top scorer).  

This now ends the 2018 season for the u14 Eadestown boys team, in which they have won 18 out of 20 competitive matches and won Feile at both County and All Ireland level.   Some of the lads will shortly commence both u13 and u15 leagues so they will continue to play.   Well done to the boys & mentors and thanks to the club and parents for all your support.
